According to the website The Barents Observer , the Russian air forces carried out, on February 14, 2018, a simulated air attack on the radar of the Vardø station, in the north of the country. The simulated attack was carried out by 11 su-24 Fencer bombers.

The information was revealed by Lieutenant General Morton Haga Lunde, director of Norwegian intelligence services, during the annual presentation to the Oslo Military Society on February 11, 2019.
