Dassault and Thales to modernize the mirage 2000-9 from the United Arab Emirates

With 68 units ordered, the United Arab Emirates were the most important export customer of Dassault's Mirage 2000. What is more, the devices were delivered between 1998 and 2009 at the -9 standard, a perfectly versatile standard, equipped with the RDY-2 radar (like the Greek 2000-5) more efficient than the RDY of -5 equipping France or Taiwan , the EMTI processing system, and an extended ammunition carrying capacity, ranging from the MICA air-to-air missile to the Exocet anti-ship missile, including laser-guided bombs and the Black Shaheen cruise missile (SCALP -EG). In any case, the Mirage 2000-9 Emirati represents today the most powerful and the most successful version of the light fighter of Dassault.

According to Michel Cabirol de latribune.fr, Dassault Aviation would have signed, a few days ago, a contract for the modernization of this fleet, for an amount of 200 to 300 million euros, and the announcement of which will likely be made at the Dubai Air show. Show which begins this Sunday, November 17. The outlines of this contract are not yet known, nor whether it calls for additional contracts with other players, such as Thales (Radar RDY-2), Safran (Turboreacteur M53), or MBDA (MICA NG missile, SCALP .. ).
