Fincantieri strengthens its ties with Qatar

The Italian shipyards Fincantieri and the Qatari Ministry of Defense have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in order to strengthen ties and joint work between the Italian naval group and the Barzan holding company owned by the State of Qatar. This agreement covers technological cooperation in shipbuilding, but also in cybersecurity and radar, and could give rise to new orders. In addition, it includes the construction of the naval base from which the new vessels of the fleet ordered in 2016 will operate, as well as all the services surrounding this fleet, such as maintenance and crew training.
