The aeronautical manufacturer Saab clearly did not hesitate to use the means to support its communication campaign around the participation of its Gripen E/F accompanied by the GlobalEye in the competition organized by Helsinki to replace the Finnish F18s. Indeed, the Swedish group has dispatched a JAS 39 Gripen as well as a GlobalEye aerial surveillance aircraft to the Kauhava air show which is taking place this weekend near the town of Vaasa, on the shores of the Gulf of Bothnia.

The Finnish HX competition is indeed one of the last in which the Swedish manufacturer can hope to place its new aircraft, acquired to date by Flygvapnet, the Swedish Air Force, and the Brazilian Air Force. The plane was in fact eliminated from the Swiss competition, while its chances in Indonesia and India are generally judged to be very low compared to the other competitors. On the other hand, in Finland, the JAS 39 enjoys an excellent image , particularly in the press and public opinion, failing to have completely convinced during the tests carried out by the Finnish Air Force .
