Press release of November 4, 2024
CERBAIR, a specialist in anti-drone combat, will supply a navalized version of its radiofrequency detection system for the seven new offshore patrol vessels ordered by the French Armament Directorate (DGA) in 2023 for the French Navy. The aim of this project is to strengthen the protection of ships against threats posed by drones.
« This is the culmination of several years of fruitful collaboration with the French Navy and then with Naval Group and the CMN, Piriou and Socarenam shipyards. said Charlie Pinedo, COO of CERBAIR.
With its advanced radio frequency spectrum analysis, the HYDRA system locates both drones and their pilots, allowing units to perceive the presence or approach of a threat and therefore react. With an innovative modular architecture, the system's sensors are easily integrated into new ships or can be installed on older ships.
This scalable radiogoniometer, equipped with CERBAIR signal processing algorithms, is non-emissive and undetectable, offering discreet and effective protection. It will play an important role in the self-protection of offshore patrol vessels.
« This contract represents a major step for CERBAIR in our commitment to providing on-board solutions, increasingly adapted to the operational needs of the French armed forces and their allies. », concluded Brian Girard, VP of Sales at CERBAIR.
About us : Created in 2015, CERBAIR is the French reference in anti-drone combat for the detection, characterization and neutralization of unauthorized drones. Drawing on its expertise in radiofrequency signal processing, CERBAIR ensures the design, deployment and maintenance of systems offering airspace protection for critical infrastructures, military bases, warships and national events, against the evolving threat of drones. Specializing in radiofrequency technology applied to anti-drone combat, CERBAIR has quickly become the reference in protocol recognition associated with a range of passive detection systems and intelligent jamming systems.
CERBAIR has established itself as a reference in complete air defense systems by gaining the trust of institutional players in France and abroad. MBDA, the European leader in missile design, is notably a historic shareholder of CERBAIR.
