    I hope you can get some info from there. I'm still curious if a deal can be made by combining 6-8 used cells (F4 ideal) and the rest 16-18 new platforms. I think our allocated budget of $3.5B still short to obtain that amount of jets. Will see what happens. Thanks.

      IF the budget is $3.5 Bn, it is doable I think.

        Yes it is, they will allocate $2B in FY 2025 (starting 10/2024) and another $1.5B in FY 2026 (by 10/2025). These funds actually are not part of the regular country budget but an exceptional request specifically for the fighter jet tender. The Peruvian government should be announcing the winner by Nov/Dec this year (no official date yet).

          When I wrote the article, I was aware only about the 1.5 $Bn. Thats why i made the hypothesis of a second tranche, like in Indonesia, or about used aircrafts. Honestly, with 3.5 $Bn for 16 to 18 planes, thats sounds manageable, especially Peru is already a serious and long term partner for Dassault. Training and services will be less expensive then for brand new customer. After, for used planes, that will really depends on what is negotiated.

    Hello Fabrice, we exchange a few tweets the other day regarding the Peruvian air force and the possibility of acquiring the Rafale.
    Just wanted to let you know that between the 19th and 20th of this month a Peruvian committee will visit Paris to start what they call the: “2024 Edition of the Strategic Dialogue” between both countries. I think this is the diplomatic way to say Rafale talks… lol. Anything you can obtain from it would be appreciated.
