The US Congress puts its parliamentarians around a Wargame to understand the stakes of a war with China

Wargames, or war games, are frequently used by the military and staff to better understand the stakes of a potential conflict, or a possible tactical situation. On the other hand, they are much less often used to convey a message to parliamentarians and politicians. It was, however, the approach undertaken a few days ago, on April 19, in the United States Congress, which brought together some of the members of the Defense Committee of the House of Representatives, arounda wargame simulating a major mortgage crisis between the United States and China around the Taiwan question. For the occasion, the American parliamentarians played the blue team, the American forces, while several experts from the think tank Center of New American Security played the Chinese red forces.
